David comes from a family of renowned Bankers & Financial Lawyers & began studying a basic bookkeepers’ course in 1999, having grasped some understanding from his time as Managing Director of his own Music Publishing Company. His first job in 2000 was to be responsible for the accounts of a privately-owned chocolate shop, and in 2002, he became an Associate of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and took up the post of Accounts Manager for a successful multi-million pound Chartered Quantity Surveyors’ practice. In this post, he worked closely with a senior partner at the accountancy practice PKF, and further studying and successful examinations led to his election as a Member of the Institute in 2007. By now, he was looking to spread his wings & start his own practice, and his election to Fellowship in 2009 was the incentive for its commencement. Today his clients range from a Solicitor’s practice and a retail outlet, to a recording studio, a group of radio stations, and a small collection of charities.

David has been an active member of the Board of Fellows of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, and has contributed to the Institute’s response to the Government’s Consultation on a review of the Money Silverstone 2013Laundering Regulations, Simpler Income Tax for Small Businesses, and was a member of the working group looking into a review of the institute’s CPD requirements. In May 2013, he was elected a member of the Advisory Council of the Institute, which enables him to further support the work & reputation of Bookkeepers, and help to strengthen the role of the Institute, both internally & in the public recognition by our peers.

He lives in Worcester, where his hobbies include being a Football Referee & the Music Director of his local Parish Church. As the photo testifies, me is also passionate about Formula One, and an invitation from the Red Bull Team to join them in the garage & pit area at Silverstone, was not one to be turned down….for those other buffs interested in the sport, the car is Sebastian Vettel’s, just before the st_marys_choir_26092010_1024final practice session got under way at Silverstone 2013, and the first of many tyres decided they’d had enough!!!
